let the total distance travelled be x km

(2/5)(x)=4800

x=4800(5/2)

x=12000

Total distance of trip is 12000 km

Distance travelled by train=(1/3)(12000)=4000 km

Distance travelled by taxi=12000-(4800+4000)=12000-8800=3200 km
