Stan took a 2-day road trip. He traveled 300 miles on the first day. However, he drove 1 hours longer on the second day to travel 360 miles. If Stan maintained the same average speed on both days, what was that average speed?

Let speed=v mph and time of the first day’s journey=t hrs.

1st day: 300=vt,

2nd day: 360=v(t+1),

360/300=6/5=(t+1)/t,

6t=5t+5, t=5 hrs.

So 300=5v, v=300/5=60mph.
