Solve for x.
x - 10y = 60
x - 10(18) = 60
x - 180 = 60
x - 180 + 180 = 60 + 180
x = 240
Check.
-x + 14y = 12

-240 + 252 = 12
12 = 12
Answer: x = 240, y = 18
