2x - 3y = 7

6x + 9y = 11

multiply the top equation by 3

6x - 9y = 21

6x + 9y = 11

add them together

12x = 32

x = 32/12

x = 8/3

2x - 3y = 7

6x + 9y = 11

mutiply the top equation by -3

-6x + 9y = -21

6x + 9y = 11

add them together

18y = -10

y = -10/18

y = -5/9
