4x+6y=8 please show me how to solve this using the elimination method

to use elimination the coefficient in front of either x or y needs to be the same in both equations.  

so if you look at x then you can multiply the 1st equation by 2 so that both equations have 4x

in this case, when you do that, the first equation becomes 4x + 6y = 8 which is exactly the same as the 2nd.  Therefore they are the exact same line so you have an infinite number of solutions
