a-b=2 (difference of ages), so a=b+2,

d (a’s father)=2a,

c (b’s sister)=b/2,

d-c=40=2a-b/2=2b+4-b/2.

Therefore, 4b+8-b=80, 3b=72, b=24, a=26.

a b c d
26 24 12 52
