Width = W

Twice the width = 2W

10 inches less than twice the width = 2W - 10

Length = L = 2W - 10

Perimeter = 2L + 2W = 52

2L + 2W = 52

2(2W - 10) + 2W = 52

4W - 20 + 2W = 52

6W - 20 = 52

6W = 72

W = 12

L = 2W - 10

L = 2(12) - 10

L = 24 - 10

L = 14

Answer:  The length is 14 inches and the width is 12 inches.
