8a. if RS = 3x + 1, ST = 2x - 2 , and RT = 64 . find the value of X.

8b. Find RS and ST .

RS + ST = RT

(3x + 1) + (2x - 2) = 64

5x - 1 = 64

5x = 65

x = 13

 

RS = 3x + 1 = 3(13) + 1 = 40

ST = 2x - 2 = 2(13) - 2 = 24
