Assuming a=3 implies at x=3.

The answer is option (d) limits are not equal, the function is discontinuous at a=3

left hand limit:  lt x->3- f(x) = 2.5

right hand limit: lt x->3+ f(x) = 3

Since left hand limit is not equal to right hand limit so limit does
