4.147x+7.0642y=8.5085 (multiply whole equation by 1.43)

4.147x+5.481y=7.598 (multiply whole equation by 2.90)

Subtract:

1.5832y=0.9105, y=0.9105/1.5832=0.5751 approx.

Substitute for y in either original equation and solve for x:

x=1.0721 approx.
