Calculate the number of females in an age group given the total population in the age group and also given the sex ratio of males to females. The sex ratio is 93.01 males to 100 females and the total population is 25819.

Add the ratio values together: 193.01 then divide this into the total:

25819/193.01=133.77.

Now multiply by 100 to find the number of females: 13,377 (and 12,442 males).
