It occurred to me that i 3 and j ? and 2x-10 may be the sides of a right angled triangle, where 3 is the length of the horizontal leg and 2x-10 is the hypotenuse. The missing number is the length of the vertical leg.

If we have j 4 then 2x-10=5 so 2x=15 and x=7.5 or 15/2. So the solution would be:

i 3, j 4 and x=15/2.
