 ( p - 13 ) + ( j + 13 ) = 153

Solution:

 ( p - 13 ) + ( j + 13 ) = 153

p + j = 153

Thus, the value of p varies directly w/ j and vice versa.

Let's say Pricila was X years old. Then Jack was X+13. The total age is 153.

X + X+13=153

2X + 13 = 153

2X=140

x=70(Pricila's age)

70+13=83(Jack's)
