When comparing negative numbers, the smaller one is the leftmost one. When comparing negative and positive numbers, the positive numbers are all to the right so positive numbers are always bigger than negative numbers.

1/4 is positive so it is bigger than every negative number. It's one division to the right of zero while -1 2/4 is to the left meaning that 1/4>-1 2/4. So first answer is false.

-2 3/4 is to the left of -1 1/2 so it's smaller. This answer is true.

-2 1/4 is left of -1 1/4, not to the right. This answer is false.

1 3/4 is positive so it is bigger than all negative numbers. This answer is false. -3/4 is not bigger.
