55/100*720=55*72/10=11*72/2=11*36=396.

55=50+5. 50% is 1/2 and 5%=1/20. 1/2 of 720=360; 1/20 of 720=36, and 360+36=396. Step 2 was wrong because 1/2 of 72=36, not 31. Answer 3.
