(x99+13)/(x-1) can be calculated using synthetic division to produce a quotient and remainder.

1 | 1 0 0 0 ... 0   13

     1 1 1 1 ... 1     1

     1 1 1 1 ... 1 | 14 = x98+x97+x96+... +x+1 rem 14

I suspect that the question was: find the remainder.
