Let u=x^2+8 and v=x^4-3. du/dx=2x and dv/dx=4x^3.

dy/dx=d((x^2+8)(x^4-3))/dx=d(uv)/dx=vdu/dx+udv/dx=(x^4-3)(2x)+(x^2+8)(4x^3)=

2x^5-6x+4x^5+32x^3=6x^5+32x^3-6x=2x(3x^4+16x^2-3).
