To solve this we need to take logs to the base 3 of both sides: x=log14=2.402. If you don't know the log to the base 3 of 14 find log to base 10 of 14=1.1461 and divide by log to base 10 of 3=0.4771; 1.1461/0.4771=2.402. We could also use natural logs=ln14/ln3=2.6391/1.0986=2.402.
