y2+3y-10=(y-2)(y+5), so we can write the expression:

(y2-39)/[(y-2)(y+5)]-(y-7)/(y-2)=

(1/[(y-2)(y+5)])(y2-39-(y-7)(y+5))=

(1/[(y-2)(y+5)])(y2-39-y2+2y+35)=

(1/[(y-2)(y+5)])(2y-4)=

(2y-4)/[(y-2)(y+5)]=2/(y+5).
