i nned to know the anwser to this question
2x-y=2
2x+y=6

Add the two equations. Having a negative y and
a positive y will eliminate the y term.

    2x - y = 2
+(2x + y = 6)
-------------------
   4x       = 8
x = 2

Plug that into one of the equations to
solve for y.

2x + y = 6
2(2) + y = 6
4 + y = 6
y = 6 - 4
y = 2

Use either equation to check your results.

2x - y = 2
2(2) - (2) = 2
4 - 2 = 2
2 = 2
