A lamp shade is in the form of a frustrum of a cone. the bottom radius is trice the top radius and the height is 14cm. The volume of the lampshade is 763cm. find (a) the bottom radius. b) area of cloth to cover the lampshade.

then (1/4) av hite abuv kut & (3/4) av hite belo kut

volume av kone=(1/3) volume av cylinder=(1/3)*(hite)*(base area)

Frustrum volum=(vol av hole kone) - (vol at top)...=(3/4) av hole kone

frust hite=14, so kone hite=(4/3)*14=18.6666666....

frust volume=763, so kone vol=763*(4/3)=1017.333333...

base-area=3*volume/hite =3*(1017.33333)/18.66666

=163.500000

=pi*rad*rad, so rad=root(163.5000/3.14159)

=root(52.04366645)

rad=7.214129639

volume av shade=(3/4)(volume av hole kone)=763

hole kone hite=(4/3)* shade hite=(4/3)*14=17.33333
