5x+5y=13, x-5y=19

5x + 5y = 13        Add them
  x -  5y = 19
6x         = 32
x = 32/6 = 16/3

5 1/3 - 5y = 19
-5y = 19 - (16/3) = 57/3 - 16/3 = 41/3
y = (41/3) / -5 = (41/3) * (-1/5) = -41/15

They were left as improper fractions to make the check easier.

5(16/3) + 5(-41/15) = 13
5(16/3) + (-41/3) = 13
(80/3) - (41/3) = 13
39/3 = 13

Therefore:
x = 16/3 = 5 1/3
y = -41/15 = -2 11/15
