The matrices are the same size, which makes addition possible.

The equations are formed by adding together corresponding elements of the matrices.

The new matrix has the same size as the matrices being added, so:

18+10=28, 54+60=114, 30+0=30, etc.

The final matrix is:

(   28 114   30 )

(   87   58 110 )

(   88   35 108 )

( 120 120 120 )
