What's the answer to this pre cal question? Should i cancel the y's?

line 1: 3x+4y=-1

line 2: 6x-2y=3

multi line 2 bi 2 & add tu line 1...add 12x-4y=6

yu get 15x=5

x=1/3

put this in line  1...1+4y=-1

4y=-2

y=-1/2
