Laplace transform for eat is 1/(s-a).

ℒ{f(t)}(s)=0f(t)e-stdt by definition.

Therefore ℒ{eat}(s)=t=0t=eate-stdt=t=0t=e(a-s)tdt=

(1/(a-s))[e(a-s)t]0=(1/(a-s))(0-1)=1/(s-a) provided a-s<0 that is, s>a.
