The difference between the terms decreases by 1 each time.

29-30=-1; 27-29=-2; 24-27=-3. The next term would be 20 (20-24=-4).

an+1=an-n, so, for example, a2=a1-1=30-1=29; a3=a2-2=29-2=27, ...

an+1=30-n(n+1)/2, or an=30-n(n-1)/2.
