2y+4x=8 can be written: y+2x=4, y=-2x+4, which has slope -2. All lines parallel to it have the same slope and can be represented by: y=-2x+c where c is a constant. If such a line is to pass through (-1,-1) this point must lie on the line so: -1=2+c, making c=-1-2=-3. The equation is therefore y=-2x-3. This can also be written y+2x+3=0 or y+2x=-3.
