compare the fractions -3/6 and -1/6

Use <, >, and = to solve.   Compare the fractions 1/8 and 1/3.

-3/6 < -1/6    (Denominators are same ,comparing the numerators we have -3<-1)

1/8 < 1/3       (Numerators are same ,comparing the denominators we have 8>3 but on                                      division it will be reversed)

Another method 

(1/8)(3/3)=3/24

(1/3)(8/8)=8/24

3/24 <8/24                (8>3)

1/8 < 1/3
