Hope I don't sound stupid but basically let's say I have two variables A and B with their own values that are independent but let's say for set one I have a certain value for A and B and set two I have another. Is there a way to compare set 1 and 2 directly or to say, have variable A and B into one value so I can make a direct comparison?

One way to do this is to combine A and B as the zeroes of a quadratic expression.

(x-A)(x-B)=x²-x(A+B)+AB.

So each set of A, B values will generate a unique quadratic expression.

Example: {2,7} and {3,5} generate x²-9x+14 and x²-8x+15. A and B can be any numbers, positive or negative, rational or irrational.
