4 + 5 + 3 - 4

So we can break it up a little bit.

4 + 5 = 9

So now the equation equals:

4 + 5 + 3 - 4 = 9 + 3 - 4

Now think about adding the 3:

So,    9 + 3 = 12

And so now the equation becomes:

9 + 3 - 4 = 12 - 4

And since,   12 - 4 = 8  the equation becomes:

4 + 5 + 3 - 4 = 8                                                                      smiley
