Solve for n in n/7 - 5n/14 = 1/7

n/7 -5n/14 = 1/7

Make the equation easier to work with by getting rid of the fractions.

Multiply both sides by the bigger denominator, 14.

This gives us,

2n - 5n = 2

-3n = 2

n = -2/3
