Is 75/100 greater than 4/5

To find the answer to this problem you need to put both numbers over the same denominator (denominator = the number on the bottom of the fraction). So lets choose to make the second fraction be over 100 instead of 5.

So since we know that 5x2=10, we know that 5x20=100

So,   4/5 = (4x20)/(5x20) = 80/100

So now we are asking ourselves if 75/100 is greater than 80/100 and since it's now in this form we can see that 75/100 is NOT greater than 80/100.
