3x-91>-87 means 3x>-87+91 so 3x>4 and x>4/3, and 17x-16>18 means 17x>18+16 so 17x>34 and x>2.

We have x>4/3 AND x>2. Since 2 is greater than 4/3 (1⅓), we can simply put x>2 and all such values will satisfy both inequalities. The solution is x>2.
