I have tried and tried to find the answer t 1-5x=21 but have not been very lucky.  I'm in advanced math for 5th grade and this is the first day we have dine 2 step equations.

i HAVE TRIED AND TRIED TO FIND THE ANSWER TO 1-5X=21 BUT CAN'T.  i AM IN ADVANCED MATH FOR 5TH GRADE AND THIS IS THE FIRST DAY WE HAVE DONE 2 STEP EQUATIONS

1-5x=21n is -4

-1-5x=21-1 (subtract 1 frrom each side)

-5x=20

-5x/-5= 20/5

-x= 4

x= -4
