Use synthetic long division to find the length ((x+1) is the width so a root of the cubic is when x+1=0, x=1):

-1 | 2  -1 -6  -3

      2  -2  3 | 3

      2  -3 -3 | 0 = 2x²-3x-3 (length)

Area=length times width so length=area/width.
