Let q be the number of quarters, then 32-q is the number of dimes.

Their total value in cents is 25q+10(32-q)=575.

25q+320-10q=575.

15q=255, so q=255/15=17 and 32-17=15 dimes.

Answer: 17 qtr and 15 dimes ($4.25+$1.50=$5.75)
