Let q=number of quarters, total value 25q cents.

Number of dimes is q+8, total value 10(q+8) cents.

Total monetary value=325 cents=25q+10q+80.

35q=245 cents. So q=245/35=7.

Number of quarters is 7 and there are 15 dimes: $1.75+$1.50=$3.25.
