Area of rectangle=base*height. The base=x being the distance from the origin (0,0) and the line x.

Height=2 so (b) A(x)=2x. (a) A(2)=4, A(5)=10.

A(2) and A(5) how to evaluate ?

Apologies for omission. Since A(x)=2x, just double the argument.
