Let x be the no. of seats occupied by the adults, meaning that the no. of seats occupied by children will be (429-x); Thus, we have; 50x+(429-x)23=14565 50x+9867-23x=14565; collecting like terms together, we obtain; 27x=4698 => x=174 i.e no. of tickets by adults (no. seats occupied) for children will be (429-x)=> 429-174=255 tickets (equivalent to no. of seats occupied by children) adults 174tickets children 255tckets
