I can't figure out the top expression?

Rewrite: b(a-6)+3(a-6)=(b+3)(a-6); divisor: (b-3)(b+3)

Provided b is not -3, we can cancel out the common factor b+3: (a-6)/(b-3).

b^2-9=(b-3)*(b+3)

top be a*(b+3) -6(b-3)

so yu get [a(b+3)/(b-3)] -[6/(b+3)]
