9x+2y=26

1.5x-2y=13

Add these two equations:

10.5x=39, x=39/10.5=78/21=26/7.

We can now substitute x=26/7 in either of the original equations:

1.5x-2y=39/7-2y=13, 39/7-13=2y, 2y=39/7-91/7=(39-91)/7=-52/7, y=-26/7.

CHECK: 9x+2y=9(26/7)-2(26/7)=(234/7)-(52/7)=182/7=26✔️

ANSWER: x=26/7, y=-26/7
