I would add 24 and 36 first because I can see that 6+4=10, leaving a zero in the ones, making it easy to add another number. 24+36=60, and 13 means I can simply replace the zero with 3 and add 1 to 60 to make the total 73. This is easier than adding 36 and 13 first then adding 24.

Given 24,36,and 13

First add,
4+6+3 = 13

Take 3 from the result and 1 add in,
2+3+1+1 = 7

Total sum = 73
