60% of 50 is 60/100*50. 50 divides into 100 2 times=60/2=30, answer A. Remember that, if you need so many per cent of a number and the percentage is less than 100, the result will always be less than the number. In this case 60% is less than 100%, so the answer must be less than the number 50. Also remember that the word "of" means "multiply". The answer is A because we have to halve 100 to get 50 so we halve 60 to get 30.
