f(x) = 2x² + 5x + 6

For the function find f(x + h)

In the rhs of the function, substitute (x+h) for each instance of x. This gives us,

f(x+h) = 2(x+h)^2 + 5(x+h) + 6

This could be expanded to give

f(x+h) = 2x^2 + 5x + 6 + 2h^2 + 5h  + 4xh
