I do not understand how to get the answer by adding fractions by multiplying the two bottom numbers. Where does that number go? Example 2/3 + 5/8 = ____

Or same thing 2/3 x 5/8 = ____ or  2/3 - 5/8 = ____ or 2/3 Divided by 5/8 = ____ How do i get the answer to these problems.
