please help me solve this problem
The fact that it is an inequality does not change
the way you work it.
6x + 4 < 5x - 7
6x + 4 - 5x < 5x - 7 - 5x
x + 4 < -7
x + 4 - 4 < -7 - 4
x < -11
You can check it the way you check equations. However,
because the inequality says that x IS LESS THAN -11,
you can't use -11 to work this out. Choose any number
that is less than -11, for example, -12.
6x + 4 < 5x - 7
6(-12) + 4 < 5(-12) - 7
-72 + 4 < -60 - 7
-68 < -67
That is, in fact, true. -68 IS less than -67.
