Linda read 1/5+2/7=7/35+10/35=17/35 of the book by Saturday. That means there was 18/35 of the book left to read. on Sunday she read 5/9 of 18/35=2/7 of the book so in all she read 17/35+2/7=17/35+10/35=27/35 of the book.
