If angle 1=110 angle 2=(3x+2y) angle 3=(9x+y) and angle 4= 70 find x and y using vertical angles. I am really confused on this. It's for my geometry homework but it's an algebra problem. I've tried it like 20 times but I can't figure this out.

angle 1 = angle 2 and angle 3 = angle 4

3x+2y=110

9x+y=70 (Now combine the the two equations by multiplying the second equation by negative two)

3x+2y=110

-18x-2y=-140 (Add them together)

-15x=-30

x=2 (Substitute 'x' into one of the original equations)

9(2)+y=70

18+y=70

y=52

To check answer, substitute both 'x' and 'y' into one of the original equations.
