Find the x intercept of: y = x + 3

Ok all this is asking you to do is find out where the line crosses the x-axis.
This is found by setting y = 0 and solving for x. So:

y = x + 3     Set y = 0.

0 = x + 3    Subtract 3 from both sides.

x = -3

The point at which the line y = x + 3 crosses the x-axis is at point: (-3, 0).
