When a number written as the power of another number it is said to be in exponential form. So 2*2*2*2*2 could be written in exponential form by writing 2 with a small 5 written as a superscript against the number 2, represented by 2^5. The number 5 is the exponent. The exponent is not limited to whole numbers. 49^1/2 means square root of 49=7 because 7*7=49. 8^1/3=2 because 2*2*2 or 2^3 is equal to 8.

Now what begins with B? Binomial? That means two numbers...
